Engineering a complete music platform

I personally built Drum & Bass UK from scratch in Laravel, covering artists, labels, releases, news, events, music discovery, and streaming radio. My engineering spans the application, editorial tools, search, APIs, background processing, and the infrastructure behind the production site.

Structured records and searchable content

Artist and release records connect music information with editorial coverage. Laravel Scout and Meilisearch support search, while background jobs handle tasks such as artist and release updates. API integrations bring external music information into the platform’s workflows.

Connected editorial and operational tools

I built an assistant connected to the website, administration tools, CRM, and email. It supports article preparation, premiere planning, video production, artist and release updates, and social media workflows. These capabilities sit alongside the publishing application and its automated content and operational processes.

From preparation to publication

AI assists research and editorial preparation, with human review and approval before publication. In the review-publishing workflow, a prepared review has a publication date; the scheduled publishing task activates due reviews and updates their search documents. Preparation, review, and scheduled publication remain distinct steps.

An operating production system

The public publishing platform is in production and has evolved through further development, integrations, migrations, and operational improvements. I combine application development with maintaining the publishing, search, and background services that keep it operating.
