A freelance career built over time
I began developing websites professionally more than 20 years ago and established a freelance engineering career. Following first contact in 2005, I provided development, modernisation, hosting, and technical support for Technojobs, a former client, from 2007 to 2025. The business was later sold and subsequently ceased trading.
I founded Planet of the Vapes in 2012 and personally built both it and Drum & Bass UK from scratch. Both have since evolved through further development, integrations, migrations, and operational improvements. Working on my own businesses has given me a practical understanding of the applications, records, and processes that people rely on after a release.
Years of professional development, from websites to commercial applications and connected business systems.
Long-term software engineering and technical support for Technojobs, a former client, during 2007–2025.
Founded Planet of the Vapes, now a platform with approximately 60,000 registered community members and complete CRM integration.
Established practice, new tools
My background spans full-stack development, substantial Linux server administration, and the data and cloud services behind commercial applications. I have used AWS S3 and Cloudflare R2 in production, alongside the work of deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting the systems around them.
I now use Codex and coordinated development agents within that engineering practice. I define technical specifications, delegate tasks, and use parallel implementation and independent reviews to move work forward. Experience across the stack helps me evaluate AI-generated changes in the context of the application, its data, and its production environment.
How I deliver AI-native engineeringWorking with me
You work directly with me, whether I’m delivering a scoped project or joining an existing team. We agree priorities, constraints, and the working pattern at the start. I keep progress and technical decisions visible, explain trade-offs, and raise changes in scope as they arise.
I take responsibility for implementation, relevant tests, and reviewed delivery. For ongoing work, we agree capacity and communication so that my contribution fits your team and the application you already have.
